Heartfelt Storytelling

Wedding with Arizona Wedding Planner Meant 2 Be Events at Desert Foothills

When you think of quintessential Arizona, saguaros and wide open desert landscapes come to mind and that’s exactly the backdrop that weddings at Desert Foothills provides. Arielle and Jake set out to plan a beautiful destination wedding and entrusted Tasha at Meant 2 Be Events to plan all the details.

The day was gusty with wind and Tasha and her team worked their magic making all the details come together. Wind always causes the full team to hustle and when you have a great planner and experienced team, any weather stress usually goes completely unnoticed to wedding guests. It’s one of many reasons to have a wedding planner like Tasha on wedding day!

We love how weddings bring in different traditions and family relationships. Arielle and Jake are both super close with their parents so it was wonderful to capture those moments for them throughout the day. For Jewish weddings, the Bedeken Ceremony and Ketubah signing always have such special moments with the family.

Documentary wedding photography that focuses on authentic moments as they naturally happen really lends itself well to multicultural weddings. It’s always a joy to hunt for special expressions of love during a wedding day. Every wedding is different, so what we hope to capture at the end of your wedding day is a unique set of images of moments that are special to you as a couple, that take you back to all the emotions and love shared on such a special day in your lives.

From getting ready with the girls … where you see the laughter and joy of the moment and not just makeup photos. Prep is a great time to get everyone used to not posing but just enjoying the day together.

The photography time during the “getting ready” portion of the day is a great chance to get a quick photo of any of the paper details like invitation suites or ring photos. Once the day gets rolling it goes quickly so anything we can capture earlier in the day we like to make sure to budge time for. This beautiful invitation suite was designed and printed by Be In Love Designs.

Mom was super excited about her “I survived my daughter’s wedding” bag … mom’s often invest a lot of thought and love into their daughter’s wedding plans.

A tender thank you hug with mom before Arielle headed out to see Jake. They got ready at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains and planned on taking a trolley together to Desert Foothills. The transportation and planning who goes where is essential to having a wedding day run smoothly. And having the wedding party on a trolly ensures everyone can have fun and have a safe transportation back to the hotel.

A first look with dad being goofy pretending to share a tear while grandpa watched in the back.

Trolley shenanigans 🙂

Desert Foothills wedding ceremony

Gorgeous details by the Meant 2 Be wedding planning and team that included floral by Chasing Bliss Design.

The Bedeken and Ketubah signing ceremony inside the barn at Desert Foothills shortly before the ceremony began. I love the moments where mom is watching adoringly and the happiness of the moments as the seal their marriage. In Jewish tradition, it’s after this ceremony that the couple is actually married. So the Bedeken and the signing of the marriage license and Ketubah is always super special. The rabbi asked that everyone whisper something special to the couple and that created a lot of special moments for the Arielle and Jake to enjoy.

Guests begin to arrive …

Tasha at Meant 2 Be Events stages the family and wedding party before the ceremony begins. I love to try to have photos of this time when possible. The anticipate of the moment is always palpable and such a great opportunity to get some sweet moments before the ceremony begins.

Arielle had a grand entrance where she walked alone part way to the ceremony and met her parents at the end of the aisle and had them both walk her down the aisle.

I hope you can see the tears in mom’s eyes in the photo. It was a very special moment.

During the circling of the groom Arielle’s veil caught on Jake and wrapped around him. Not everything goes as expected and it’s these fun moments that make a wedding day special and memorable.

The way Jake looked at Arielle through out the ceremony was SO special.

Jake’s sister peaked over to see as much of the ceremony as she could. They have such a sweet relationship.

The veil blew around in the wind and made for some beautiful opportunities for photos. We always try to embrace whatever the weather is and use it to our advantage for photos.

Arielle looks back at her mom and dad while Jake can’t keep is eyes off of Arielle.

The smashing of the glass! Mazel Tov!!!

Arielle was just glowing! A little wind didn’t get her down.

We took the last few minutes of light that day to squeeze in photos of the newlyweds enjoying the landscape and time with each other.

Wedding reception at Desert Foothills

And in a blink of an eye it’s the first dance and the hora! Lucky Devils Band is one of our favorite live wedding bands. They know how to make a reception unforgettable.

This was no ordinary father daughter dance. Arielle and her dad surprised everyone with some sweet moves!

We can’t forget the moms too… we look for all kind of moments with not only your family and wedding party on the dance floor but this is a time for your guests to have fun and after the wedding you’ll love having photos and see all the moments you missed.

LOVE this sweet moment with Jake dancing with Arielle and his sister in the background with the biggest smile.

Dad and Arielle new now to dance! Jake and his sister grabbing a shot with their mom. We can only imagine how many times she’s hugged her kiddos. This time it’s on her son’s wedding day. These moments make every wedding so special and unique.

And just like that! It’s the end of the night! Tasha at Meant 2 Be Events helped arrange the sparkler exit for one last great moment for Arielle and Jake to experience and look back on through their photos!

It truly takes an experienced team to create a smooth wedding like this. Check out the amazing wedding professionals that made this day extraordinary!
